ELECTION OF OFFICERS (QUALIFICATION)

(i) A student shall not be a candidate in any election unless he/she is nominated for election as president, secretary, treasurer etc. by documents which is:

a. Sign by him/her
b. Signed by not less than 5 members from the association and;

(ii) Delivered to the electoral commissioner on or before the date fixed for the close of nomination in relations to the elections

(iii) A student shall not be qualified for elections to the following offices; president, financial secretary, treasurer, and welfare officer unless:

a. He/ she has been a student for not less than one year and paid up member at the time of filling nominations
b. The vetting committee has declared him/ her competent

(iv) A person shall not be qualified to be an officer if he/she:

a. Is a habitual drunkard
b. Has been adjudged or otherwise declared to misappropriated funds or conducted himself in such a manner as to cause depreciation in respect of loss or otherwise in cash or property entrusted to him or her
c. Has been found by any committee of enquiry to be incompetent to hold any office or is a person in respect of whom a committee or commission has found that, while holding any office, he/she wilfully acted in a manner prejudice to the interest of his/her office
d. He/she has been removed from any student office both in and outside the University.
